Lochac Online Community Guidelines

The headlines

KEEP IT RESPECTFUL. Lochac is proud of hosting a community that embraces different cultures, faiths, attitudes and points of view. Please be respectful of this.

KEEP IT LEGAL. We’ll delete posts defaming others, posting offensive content, plotting illegal activities, or posting other people’s private information, and ban the poster.

KEEP IT CLEAN. Offensive language has no place here. You won’t be able to use profanities and creative alternatives will be deleted.

KEEP IT RELEVANT. These are SCA online communities. We can’t support off-topic discussions and will remove them.

KEEP IT APPROPRIATE. Our Groups are set to private, however the members are of all ages, cultures, faiths and social attitudes. This means you have a wide audience to your post. Consider this when posting, and keep everything PG-13.

Rich debate is wonderful, and you can do it without being offensive, humiliating or intimidating based on: race, colour, ethnicity, nationality or physical characteristics, gender or sexual orientation, religion or non-religious viewpoints (i.e. secular humanism, atheism), political opinion, socio-economic status, age, physical, mental or intellectual disability/impairment and the ways people express themselves. Remember this is a highly diverse community, with different written cultures.

Groups that actively affiliate themselves with the SCA and Kingdom brands, regardless of the media, will be considered official, members are bound by the Codes of Conduct and Kingdom oversight will apply.

Reporting abuse

You have options that let you notify us of stuff that breaches the rules. This helps you look after the community too.  If you see something that you feel is inappropriate, please follow the steps below.

To report something you see in a Facebook group:

  1. Find the post or comment you want to report
  1. Click Story options in the top (the three dots on the top right of the post or the three dots on the side of the comment)
  1. Select Report to Admin to report the post to an admin or select Report post to send the report to

Note: If you choose to report the post to an admin, the admin will know that you reported it. Admins may or may not choose to remove the post or block the person who shared the post. Reporting a post to an admin won’t send a report to Facebook.  Please also feel free to message SCA Lochac with your concerns about the post you have reported.  Sometimes, you may see something in a post or comment that others don’t, so voicing your concerns is important.

You may report non Facebook content to the Kingdom Social Media Officer via reporting the post or messaging to SCA Lochac or e-mail with a link to the post to media@lochac.sca.org.

  • These guidelines apply to all content you contribute to the Kingdom’s official
  • If it looks like a duck… an official group is one in which members post official notices about SCA activity so if officers are posting information about their offices to a group for example, it’s an official
